What is a trading VPS trial?
A trading VPS trial is a time-limited evaluation of production-grade hosting before you commit to a monthly plan. The goal is not to run a demo account on a toy server — it is to put your actual MetaTrader, NinjaTrader, or cTrader workflow on dedicated hardware in the same datacenter as your broker and verify that latency, uptime, and platform stability meet your requirements.
PropVPS trial access is the same Challenger-tier instance every paying customer receives: Intel Xeon dedicated cores, ECC DDR4 memory, NVMe storage, dedicated IPv4, Windows Server 2022 with trading platforms pre-installed, and 99.99% uptime SLA. There is no “trial tier” with shared cores or throttled network.
How the PropVPS trial works
Sign up, choose your datacenter (match your broker — NY4 for US forex ECNs, CH4 for CME futures, LD4 for European brokers), select Challenger or higher, and complete checkout. RDP credentials are delivered to your dashboard once provisioning completes.
Run your platform for up to seven days. Test order routing latency, EA stability, prop firm IP compliance, and multi-terminal load. If PropVPS is not the right fit, contact support for a full refund — processed within one business day. No questions beyond confirming the refund request.
Free VPS trial vs broker free VPS vs PropVPS trial
Three different things get conflated under “free VPS”. Broker-bundled VPS (OANDA, Pepperstone, FOREX.com) is free only while you generate commissions, runs on shared hardware with no SLA, and is locked to that broker’s MT4. Budget “$3.99 trial” hosts offer a shared-core sandbox in a non-financial datacenter — fine for clicking around, not for measuring live execution.
PropVPS trial is production infrastructure with a refund window. You pay upfront, you get the real product, and you keep it or get your money back. For a funded account or any strategy where infrastructure failure has a dollar cost, that is the only trial that answers the actual question.
What to test during your trial week
Measure round-trip latency from your VPS to your broker gateway — anything under 1ms in the correct datacenter is the target. Run your EA or strategy through at least one full session (London open, New York open, or your primary window). Confirm your prop firm accepts the dedicated IP. Stress-test with the number of terminals you plan to run long-term.
If all four pass, upgrade billing to quarterly or annual for 15–30% savings. If any fail, request the refund before day seven.
